Community Leadership
Connecting school and community and building local leadership has been a cornerstone of the work of NPP. Grants for this work have been through the Kellogg Foundation, Annenburg Rural Trust and a MIRA grant which was funded through a variety of organizations.

Teacher development
NPP is working to maintain high quality teachers among members and has implemented this goal in a variety of ways. Some of the most recent strategies include: Teacher to Teacher In-service day, University Teacher development grants, Portfolio Development training through the Rural Trust (add live link to www.ruraledu.org ) and Moodle electronic connections.

Youth - Entrepreneurial
Blue Hills Manufacturing a school based business, Technology Learning Consultants funded through the Weaving Project from the Kellogg Foundation.

Youth Civic Engagement: Wisconsin Rural Challenge
The locally funded Environmental Challenge involves youth in planning and implementing real world solutions to environmental issues. Youth Press, now a statewide voice for youth, was also funded through the Weaving Project.
